I often get asked, \u201cisn\u2019t designing thinking just for designers?\u201d Or, \u201cWhy should engineers care about design thinking?\u201d. \u00a0These are all perfectly reasonable questions, after all \u2018design thinking\u2019 implies design, right? Let\u2019s delve into why this process is not just for designers but can be extended to even the engineers.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

A quick recap on what is design thinking<\/em>:\u00a0Design thinking is a non-linear, iterative process which seeks to understand users, challenge assumptions, redefine problems and create innovative solutions to prototype and test. Let\u2019s now look at one way design thinking can be extended beyond the UI. As\u00a0engineers, we tend to think that once we have followed software development best practices that\u2019s where we should leave it. But let\u2019s take it a bit further and look at architectures.     Easy debugging | strengthening testability<\/b>\u00a0– a\u00a0program with millions of lines of code will present a huge task if not in a module when debugging is required. You can imagine what it is like to search through such a huge environment to look for errors in a program. Having a huge project with that\u2019s not modular can make issue investigation and debugging very difficult.
